The Youth Empowered & Alive (YEA) initiative has launched a new Barbering Class, thanks to the generous support of Williams Industries. The program forms part of a wider national crime prevention strategy, equipping young men with valuable skills, mentorship, and positive alternatives to high-risk environments.
Participants will receive hands-on training in barbering, with a strong emphasis on discipline, purpose, and entrepreneurship. Upon completion, each trainee will be provided with a set of professional barbering tools, supported by Williams Industries. The program also includes internships, preparing graduates to establish their own businesses and build sustainable livelihoods.
By combining skill development with mentorship, this initiative aims to foster confidence, independence, and long-term opportunities for young men, while reducing their vulnerability to crime and violence.
The organization has expressed deep gratitude to Williams Industries for its investment in youth empowerment and its commitment to supporting a safer, stronger Barbados. Other partners and stakeholders are encouraged to join in advancing this transformative work.
