A stellar core of physicians, nurses, and students eager to launch the Pediatric Preventable Blindness (PPB) Initiative have joined forces with The Balkan Center to investigate the nature of visual impairment in children in Barbados.
With the successful implementation of early screening in conjuction with the vaccination schedule in Suriname, expansion of the PPB initiative to Barbados was the next step.
NEXT STEP
Given the inherent differences between Suriname and Barbados with respect to
geography and infrastructure, there was no real idea where attention was needed. Before going directly to early screening we initiated PPVIB!
